Q: your creative process – how you get inspired, do you make steadily or in furious spurts?
A:
I am a fundamentally creative person- I think most of us are. We express that creativity in different ways, and with different things, but a way to get out of our own heads and talk about things, make things, is fundamental to being a person.
I am a textile worker, I love knitting and sewing and embroidery and weaving and and and. If it’s a textile, I’m into it.
The past few years have been rough for us all. I am always more inspired to make things than I have time for, but I’ve been struggling with the mojo lately. I’ve been kind to myself and not pushed it, but the urge is coming back- now it’s rearranging my days so that there is specific making time built in.
I’m inspired by other projects, by art, by the needs of my family (I love textiles specifically because they are useful as well as beautiful).
